Uzbekistan’s first private passenger airline, Qanot Sharq, is launching charter flights on the Tashkent-Moscow-Tashkent route, Trend reports citing Alltrip.Uz, a ticket sales company.

The first flight will take place on 27 August.

"From August 27, we, together with the Qanot Sharq airline (the first private passenger airline in Uzbekistan), are launching charter flights on the Tashkent-Moscow-Tashkent route," the message indicates.

The cost of air tickets will be from $364 in the Tashkent-Moscow direction and from $79 in the Moscow-Tashkent direction.

Earlier it was reported that Qanot Sharq airline has leased two used Airbus A320-200 aircraft from the American company Air Lease Corporation.

Qanot Sharq was incorporated in 1998 and specializes in air cargo and passenger transportation. From 2003 to 2012, it leased Il-76 aircraft from Uzbekistan Airways and operated its own charter flights, being the first private airline in Uzbekistan.

During that period, the company transported more than 150,000 passengers. After the transfer of all Il-76s to Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Defense, the Qanot Sharq operator certificate was suspended.
