Kazakhstan boosts revenues from transporting cargo by road

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 27

Kazakhstan’s revenue from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via road transport amounted to 112.2 billion tenge ($264.7 million) from January through July 2021, which is 18.2 percent more than during the same period of 2020, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

Revenue from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via road transport in July 2021 amounted to 19.1 billion tenge ($45.2 million), which is 25.5 percent more than during the same period of 2020.

The volume of cargo, luggage and cargo luggage transported via road transport during the reporting period amounted to 1.6 billion tons, which is 4.3 percent less compared to the same period of last year (289.2 million tons in July 2021, down by 4.3 percent year-on-year).

Cargo turnover amounted to 79.5 billion ton-kilometers which is 54.7 percent less than during the same period of last year (13.6 billion in July 2021, an increase of two times).

In turn, Kazakhstan’s revenue from passenger transportation amounted to 51.03 billion tenge ($120.3 million) over the reporting period of 2021, which is 2.03 times more than during the same period of last year. July revenue from passenger transportation was 7.4 billion tenge ($17.4 million), which is 33 percent more compared to July 2020.

The number of transported passengers amounted to 3.4 billion people, which is 48 percent less than during the same period of last year (557.5 million passengers in July 2021, up by 2.2 times).

The passenger turnover amounted to 37.4 billion passenger kilometers which compared to the same period of last year is a decrease of 47.9 percent. The passenger turnover in July was 5.9 billion (2.08 times more year-on-year).
