The Swiss Stadler company is ready to consider its participation in the supply of additional trains to Azerbaijan, the company told Trend.
The company also expressed its readiness to provide service and signal solutions.
"If Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY) announces a new tender or places an order, we’ll be ready to consider our participation in it," the company added.
The company reminded that in 2019, ADY and Stadler signed a contract for the supply of the first 10 single-deck FLIRT trains, four of which are designed as inter-regional diesel-electric trains, and of electric trains, three as inter-regional and three as regional.
"As part of this order, engineering and procurement of components are underway at Stadler," the company said, also stressing that since 2019, many railway lines in Azerbaijan have been transferred from 3 kV DC to 25 kV.
“As a customer-oriented company, we have responded in a timely manner to the innovations and refurbished the KISS double-deck trains, which were originally rated for 3 kVDC, to operate at 25 kV,” Stadler said.
Totally, as of date, nine four-car double-decker KISS trains and 20 Stadler sleeping cars have been supplied to Azerbaijan.
