An agreement was reached between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan to accelerate work on the creation of a joint company with Georgia in the trade and transport sector within the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), Trend reports.

This project will provide the shortest route for the transportation of goods from the Caspian region to Europe and the Black Sea region, and will effectively manage the growing flows of interregional trade.

Pakistani companies launch road cargo shipments to Azerbaijan

Pakistan’s National Logistics Cell (NLC) has initiated cargo transportation via Transports Internationaux Routiers (TIR) admissions for Azerbaijan and Turkey. Advisor to Prime Minister on Commerce and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood said that implementation of the project is a milestone in making Pakistan a Transit and Transhipment hub.

According to Dawood, TIR admission will allow cargo to cross borders and move along trade routes with reduced procedural barriers.

The transportation is initially targeted at Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Turkmenistan, but is designed to be extended to other Central Asian countries, he added.

Azerbaijan provides part of container cargo transportation from China to Europe

"ADY Container" LLC, subsidiary of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC participates in the container cargo transportation from China to Europe.

According to the director of ADY Container LLC Natig Jafarov, the Azerbaijani side has the opportunity to expand its potential in cargo transportation from the city of Kashgar (China), in the direction of the port of Turkmenbashi (Turkmenistan), then by feeder ships to the Baku port, then along the Baku -Tbilisi -Kars railway line (BTK) to Turkey and Europe.

Besides, the LLC is developing a logistics product for container transportation by feeder vessels between the Georgian and Ukrainian ports of Poti and Odessa.

Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey work to bring BTK railway to full capacity

Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey are jointly working to bring the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway (BTK) to full capacity. During the meeting of Azerbaijani Transportation and Communication Ministry’s head Rashad Nabiyev with the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Guram Guramishvili and employees of the state railways of Turkey, the issues of organizing and increasing the volume of cargo transit via BTK were discussed.

Besides, the parties discussed the construction of terminals in Georgian Akhalkalaki and Turkish Kars cities, and ways of solving existing problems.
