Volume of cargo loaded/unloaded in ports of Iran’s Abadan County soars

The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the ports of the Abadan County in the Khuzestan Province (south-western Iran) increased by 170 percent, during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Director of Ports and Maritime Department in Abadan County Reza Safari said, Trend reports citing Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

Safari said that a total of 28,958 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the ports of the Abadan County in 8 months.

“The cargo was loaded and unloaded in Abadan, Arvandkenar and Chavibdeh ports of Abadan County,” he added.

The director noted that the loaded and unloaded goods were equipment and spare parts, agricultural products, seafood, clothing and etc.

Reportedly, Iran's Abadan County’s ports play a key role in Iran's trade with countries around the Persian Gulf.
