Cargo transportation via Iran's Kerman International Airport soars

The volume of cargo transported through the Kerman International Airport in the Kerman Province (south-eastern Iran) increased by 26 percent, during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21- through October 22, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, as was reflected in the statistics of Iran Airports and Air Navigation Company (IAC), Trend reports.

According to the statistics, 2,336 tons of cargo were transported through the Kerman International Airport in 7 months. Meanwhile, the same period last Iranian year, the figure stood at 1,851.

“Moreover, 310,207 passengers were transported through Kerman International Airport within the mentioned period. Passenger transportation increased by 8 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. So, 287,104 passengers had been transported via the airport in the same period last year,” the statistics said.

A total of 2,527 passenger planes took off and landed at the airport over seven months, which is an increase of 9 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. The figure amounted to 2,324 in the same period last Iranian year.

As reported, Iran's Kerman International Airport is located on an area of 7,820 square meters and can receive more than 1.1 million passengers a year.
