The number of passenger planes received by Sanandaj International Airport in the Kurdistan Province (western Iran) increased by 236 percent, during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through October 22, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, as was reflected in the statistics of Iran Airports and Air Navigation Company (IAC), Trend reports.
According to the statistics, a total of 336 passenger planes were received by the airport in 7 months. Meanwhile, in the same period last Iranian year, the figure stood at 100.
“During 7 months, 19,247 passengers were transported via Sanandaj International Airport. Passenger transportation increased by 269 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. So, 5,206 passengers had been transported through the airport in the same period last Iranian year,” the statistics said.
Furthermore, about 131 tons of cargo were transported through the airport for the reporting period. Cargo transportation increased by 260 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. This figure amounted to 36.2 tons in the same period last Iranian year.
