Russia's Izhevsk Radio Plant signed a contract with Azerbaijan Railways CJSC in 2021, project manager of the Russian enterprise Denis Vostrikov told Trend.
According to him, in the fall of 2021, the equipment of the CLUB-UP traffic safety system (installed on traction and self-propelled railway rolling stock, and functionally combining automatic locomotive signaling and electronic locomotive speedometer) is manufactured by Izhevsk Radio Plant in the amount of 18 sets. The equipment was sent to the Italian company GEISMAR ITALIA, which is a developer and manufacturer of rolling stock for railway maintenance.
"At the plant of the Italian company, our system will be integrated into a single-cabin special self-propelled rolling stock VMT 865GR, which will be transported to Azerbaijan after installation and testing," Vostrikov said.
A business mission of the Izhevsk Radio Plant's representatives to Azerbaijan is scheduled for February, within which issues of installing CLUB equipment, as well as object recognition systems on locomotives, will be discussed.
