The volume of cargo transported through Kerman International Airport in the Kerman Province (south-eastern Iran) increased by 46 percent, during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through December 21, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, as was reflected in the statistics of Iran Airports and Air Navigation Company (IAC), Trend reports.
According to the statistics, a total of 3,419 tons of cargo were transported through the airport in 9 months. Meanwhile, in the same period last Iranian year, the figure stood at 2,345 tons.
In addition, 446,944 passengers were transported through Kerman International Airport over nine months. Passenger transportation increased by 27 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. Thus, 351,625 passengers had been transported through the airport in the same period last year.
Within 9 months, 3,320 flights (passenger planes only) were carried out from the Kerman Airport, which is an increase of 10 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. So, the number of flights amounted to 3,032 in the same period last Iranian year.
Iran's Kerman International Airport is located on an area of 7,820 square meters and can receive more than 1.1 million passengers a year.
