Loading/unloading activity at Iran’s Anzali port declines

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 13. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Anzali port of the Gilan Province (northern Iran) decreased by 1.3 percent, in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year (April 21 through May 21, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 119,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Anzali port in the 2nd month. Of this figure, 24,800 tons were loaded and 93,900 tons were unloaded.

In addition, 21,900 tons of cargo were exported and 90,800 tons were imported through the Anzali port over the reporting month.

Also, 2,970 tons of cargo were loaded and 2,870 tons were unloaded in the port for transit, as well as 170 tons of cargo were unloaded for other purposes in the 2nd month.

According to the statistics, 64,000 tons of essential products, 4,780 tons of metal products, 11,400 tons of construction and mining materials, 869 tons of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Anzali port in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year.

Moreover, 1,690 tons of chemicals, about 25,600 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 7,400 tons of container products, and 2,850 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.

In general, more than 12.6 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 5.47 million tons were loaded and 7.12 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 17.5 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year.
