BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 7. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Rajaee port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) increased by 14.3 percent, in the 3rd month of the current Iranian year (May 22 through June 21, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
According to the statistics, about 6.64 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Rajaee port in the 3rd month. Of this, about 3.53 million tons were loaded and 3.11 million tons were unloaded.
In addition, 3 million tons of cargo were exported, while about 867,000 tons were imported through the Shahid Rajaee port over the 3rd month.
Also, about 129,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 444,000 tons were unloaded in the port for transit during the reporting month.
According to the statistics, 253,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 1.6 million tons were unloaded in the port for cabotage during the 3rd month.
In the 3rd month, about 138,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 147,000 tons were unloaded in this port for transshipment.
At the same time, 2,940 tons of cargo were loaded, and 51,000 tons were unloaded in the port for other purposes.
About 162,000 tons of essential products, about 669,000 tons of metal products, 997,000 tons of construction and mining materials, and 3,470 tons of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Rajaee port in the 3rd month of the current Iranian year.
Moreover, 82,000 tons of chemicals, 4,600 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 5,460 tons of small and assorted products, 1.95 million tons of container products, and about 2.76 million tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.
In general, about 12.6 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 3rd month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 5.8 million tons were loaded and 6.8 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 6.4 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year.
