BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 27. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Chabahar port of the Sistan and Baluchestan Province (south-eastern Iran), increased by 23 percent in the 6th month of the current Iranian year (August 23 through September 22, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, a total of 412,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Chabahar port in the 6th month. Of this, 91,400 tons were loaded and about 321,000 tons were unloaded.

Some 90,000 tons of cargo were exported and about 103,000 tons were imported through the Chabahar port over the reporting month.

Furthermore, 91 tons of cargo were unloaded in the port for transit in the 6th month.

At the same time, about 218,000 tons of cargo were unloaded in the port for cabotage, as well as 1,460 tons were loaded for other purposes during the 6th month.

In overall, 88,900 tons of essential products, 90,000 tons of construction and mining materials and 3,720 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Chabahar port in the 6th month of the current Iranian year.

Moreover, 31 tons of chemicals, 630 tons of leather products, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 103 tons of small and assorted products, 12,000 tons of container products and about 217,000 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.

In general, about 13.6 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 6th month of the current Iranian year. Of this, about 6.67 million tons were loaded and about 6.5 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 6 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
