BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 14. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Khorramshahr port of the Khuzestan Province (south western Iran) decreased by 43.5 percent in the 7th month of the current Iranian year (September 23 through October 22, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 173,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the port during the 7th month. Of this, about 154,000 tons were loaded and about 19,200 tons were unloaded.

Meanwhile, about 153,000 tons of cargo were exported and 18,000 tons were imported through the Khorramshahr port over the reporting month, the statistics said.

Also, 184 tons of cargo were unloaded in this port for transit, while 642 tons of cargo were loaded and 1,070 tons were unloaded for other purposes within the 7th month.

According to the statistics, 3,040 tons of essential products, 6,420 tons of metal products, 144,000 tons of construction and mining materials, and 2,120 tons of equipment were loaded and unloaded in the Khorramshahr port in the 7th month of the current Iranian year.

Moreover, 2,900 leather products, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 23 tons of small and assorted goods, and 14,200 tons of container products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.

In general, about 11.6 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 7th month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 5.66 million tons were loaded and 5.94 million tons were unloaded. This is a decrease of 6 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
