BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 28. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Anzali port of the Gilan Province (northern Iran) increased by 50 percent in the 8th month of the current Iranian year (October 23 through November 21, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, over 159,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Anzali port in the 8th month. Of this figure, 39,000 tons were loaded and more than 120,000 tons were unloaded.

In addition, 30,000 tons of cargo were exported and about 115,000 tons were imported through the Anzali port over the reporting month.

Also, 8,900 tons of cargo were loaded and 5,630 tons were unloaded in the port for transit, as well as 186 tons of cargo unloaded for other purposes in the 8th month.

Some 87,500 tons of essential products, 12,000 tons of metal products, 9,800 tons of construction and mining materials, and 1,230 tons of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Anzali port in the 8th month of the current Iranian year.

Moreover, 9,350 tons of chemicals, 23,400 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 5 tons of small and assorted goods, 16,000 tons of container products, and 20 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.

In general, approximately 12.7 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 8th month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 6.92 million tons were loaded and 5.76 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 3.7 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
