BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 25. The number of domestic flights (passenger planes only) via Iranian airports decreased by 11 percent, during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through December 21, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, as was reflected in the statistics of Iran Airports and Air Navigation Company (IAC), Trend reports.
A total of more than 210,000 domestic flights were carried out from Iranian airports in 9 months.
Meanwhile, in the same period of the last Iranian year, the figure stood at over 235,000.

Meanwhile, there are 54 civil active airports in Iran. Some 14 of them are international airports. An average of 30 million passengers are transported through Iranian airports per year.
