BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 28. Cargo transit through the customs of Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan Province in the south-east of the country, decreased by 14 percent, during the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through February 19, 2023), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Supervisor of Sistan and Baluchestan Province Customs Office Mohammad Ali Khashi told Tasnim News Agency, Trend reports.

More than 756,000 tons of cargo were transited through the province’s customs in 11 months, according to Khashi.

He also added that the mentioned volume of cargo was transited by 36,850 trucks and 970 freight wagons.

The official noted that the cargo was transited to Pakistan, Afghanistan, China, Azerbaijan, the UAE, India, and Iraq via customs of Sistan and Baluchestan Province.

Khashi said that the transited products were mainly auto spare parts, beans, almonds, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), apples, car tires, potatoes, rice, cement, sulfur and etc.

Meanwhile, more than 12 million tons of cargo were transited through Iran within the first 11 months of the current Iranian year, which is an increase of 5.22 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.
