BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 22. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed an agreement on cooperation and mutual assistance in customs affairs with President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping, Trend reports.
According to the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, this intergovernmental agreement will create a legal basis for further practical cooperation between the customs authorities of Turkmenistan and China.
In particular, to organize joint work on combating customs offenses (including smuggling), exchange of information on tariff rates, provision of mutual technical assistance, exchange of experience and experts, customs risk management, mutual recognition of institutions of an authorized economic operator, and much more.
Meanwhile, the agreement will expand the capabilities of the customs services of the two countries, establish close cooperation in ensuring the accurate calculation and collection of customs duties, and the implementation of prohibitive and restrictive measures.
