BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 23. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded at Iran’s Anzali port in the Gilan Province (northern Iran) increased by 55 percent, in the 1st month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2023), compared to the same month in the last year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
More than 158,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Anzali port in the 1st month. Of that, 27,100 tons were loaded and 131,000 tons were unloaded.
At the same time, 24,400 tons of cargo were exported and 127,000 tons were imported through the Anzali port over the reporting month.
Also, 2,790 tons of cargo were loaded and 3,360 tons were unloaded at the port for transit, as well as 459 tons of cargo unloaded for other purposes in the 1st month.
Some 74,000 tons of essential products, 41,200 tons of metal products, 6,440 tons of construction and mining materials, and 1,690 tons of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts were loaded and unloaded at the Anzali port in the 1st month of the current Iranian year.
Moreover, about 6,700 tons of chemicals, 19,600 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 8,480 tons of container products, and 38 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded at this port within the mentioned month.
In total, 11.9 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 1st month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 5.22 million tons were loaded and 6.68 million tons were unloaded. This is a decrease of 0.7 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
