BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 17. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded at Iran’s Shahid Bahonar port in the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran), decreased by 45.7 percent, in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year (April 21 through May 21, 2023), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports.
Approximately 110,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded at this port in the 2nd month. Of this, 97,400 tons were loaded and 12,300 tons were unloaded.
Within the 2nd month, 57,500 tons of cargo were exported and 4,440 tons were imported through the Shahid Bahonar port.
Also, 452 tons of cargo were loaded and 4,410 tons were unloaded at the port for transit over the reporting month.
At the same time, 39,400 tons of cargo were loaded at the port for cabotage, as well as 18 tons of cargo were loaded and 3,450 tons were unloaded for other purposes during the 2nd month.
Some 35,100 tons of essential products, 105 tons of metal products, about 21,900 tons of construction and mining materials, and 4,010 tons of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts were loaded and unloaded at the Shahid Bahonar port in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year.
Moreover, 1,120 tons of chemicals, 3,600 tons of container products, and about 43,900 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned period.
In total, 11.7 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 7.01 million tons were loaded and 4.66 million tons were unloaded. This is a decrease of 3.4 percent compared to the same month in the last Iranian year.
