BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 9. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded at Iranian ports decreased by 2.2 percent from the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2023), to July 9, 2023, compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports.
Overall, 44.9 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded at Iran’s ports during the reporting period, while the figure stood at 45.9 million tons in the same period last Iranian year.
Approximately 14.8 million tons of crude oil and related products were loaded and unloaded at Iranian ports within the mentioned period. This is a decrease of 12.6 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year (about 16.9 million tons).
The volume of twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) container shipments amounted to 700,000 tons. This is a decrease of 2.3 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year (710,000 tons).
The volume of other container shipments was 7.13 million tons, which is a decrease of 10.7 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year (about 7.99 million tons).
The general cargo volume stood at 5.86 million tons showing a 16.1-percent decrease compared to the same period of the last Iranian year (6.98 million tons).
Dry bulk cargo volume reached 16.1 million tons. This is an increase of 22.3 percent compared to the same period of the last Iranian year (13.2 million tons).
The liquid bulk cargo was 1.06 million tons. This is 18.4 percent more than in the same period of the last Iranian year (900,000 tons).
The cargo was loaded and unloaded at Iranian ports in Abadan, Arvandkenar, Astara, Imam Khomeini, Amirabad, Anzali, Bushehr, Tiab, Jask, Chabahar, Charak, Chavibdeh, Khorramshahr, Dayyer, Shahid Bahonar, Shahid Rajaee, Shahid Haqqani, Fereidoonkenar, Qeshm, Genaveh, Bandar Lengeh, and Noshahr.
