BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 31. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded at Iran’s Shahid Rajaee port in the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) increased by 9.6 percent for the 3rd month of the current Iranian year (May 22 through June 21, 2023), compared to the same month in the last year, Trend reports.
According to the statistics of the Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO), nearly 7.28 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded at the Shahid Rajaee port in the third month. So, about 4.49 million tons were loaded and 2.79 million tons were unloaded.
Over the third month, circa 4.15 million tons of cargo were exported and 791,000 tons were imported through the Shahid Rajaee port.
Also, 104,000 tons of cargo were loaded and about 423,000 tons were unloaded at the port for transit during the reporting month.
In addition, approximately 149,000 tons of cargo were loaded and 1.43 million tons were unloaded at the port for cabotage during the third month.
Within the third month, 83,800 tons of cargo were loaded and 77,400 tons were unloaded in this port for transshipment.
At the same time, 1,890 tons of cargo were loaded and 65,800 tons were unloaded in the port for other purposes.
Some 135,000 tons of essential products, 598,000 tons of metal products, 2.01 million tons of construction and mining materials, and 3,960 tons of equipment, vehicles, and spare parts were loaded and unloaded at the Shahid Rajaee port in the 3rd month of the current Iranian year.
Moreover, 169,000 tons of chemicals, 1,610 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 6,690 tons of small and assorted products, 1.81 million tons of container products, and 2.53 million tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.
In total, about 13.2 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the third month of the current Iranian year. Of that, 5.55 million tons were loaded and 7.64 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 9 percent compared to the same month in the last Iranian year.
