BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 4. EU countries exported cars and other motor vehicles to Azerbaijan, intended to carry less than 10 people and worth 131.4 million euros, from January to June 2023, Trend reports.
According to the European Statistical Office (Eurostat), this is a growth of two times in value terms compared to the same period in 2022.
The top three exporters from January through June this year were Germany with 57.05 million euros (growth by 1.9 times), Slovakia with 37.09 million euros, and Italy with 16.1 million euros (growth by 2.3 times).
According to Eurostat, in 2022, the EU countries exported cars and other motor vehicles worth 176.06 million euros (an increase of 2.6 times compared to 2021), intended for the transport of less than 10 people, to Azerbaijan.
From January through July 2023, 1,866 passenger cars were produced in Azerbaijan, which is 656 more than in the same period in 2022.
Meanwhile, according to the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan, the country imported 56,766 vehicles, up by 37.24 percent, or 15,404 units, year on year.
