EU places emphasis on prioritizing transport co-op with Turkmenistan

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, February 1. Turkmenistan and the EU have ample opportunities to develop cooperation in all areas where mutual transport interconnection is special, Henrik Hololei, Hors Classe Advisor to the Directorate General for International Partnerships of the European Commission told Turkmen media, Trend reports.

He said this during his participation in the Global Gateway Investors Forum for EU-Central Asia Transport Connectivity, in Brussels.

According to him, Turkmenistan's favorable geographical location and modern transport infrastructure, including the Turkmenbashi International Seaport, create favorable conditions for deepening cooperation in this area.

Henrik Hololei also highly appreciated Turkmenistan's policy based on transport diplomacy and expressed confidence that in the future the country will make a great contribution to the development of interregional transport corridors.

At the same time, he noted that there are great opportunities for cooperation between Turkmenistan and EU companies, citing the example of Cargolux company, which the country uses as its main transport hub.

Advisor also stressed that there are opportunities to increase the number of European companies operating in the Turkmen market.

Meanwhile, the development of transport cooperation between Turkmenistan and the EU is a key strategic aspect in bilateral relations.

Both sides have extensive opportunities to strengthen ties in this area, which is reflected in promising initiatives to improve transport infrastructure and promote logistical efficiency.
