BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 8. Significant agreements have been reached on the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Executive Deputy Director of the Administrative Committee of SCODA Li Gang said during a conference on the promotion of logistics and trade in Azerbaijan, SCO demonstration area, Trend reports.
Gang made it clear that Azerbaijan has been at the forefront of backing the Belt and Road Initiative.
"In the future, we are prepared to jointly implement important initiatives of our leaders and engage in comprehensive, multifaceted, and in-depth exchanges with our friends from Azerbaijan," he said.
He stressed the importance of the friendly and trustworthy relationship between China and Azerbaijan.
"At the SCO summit, significant agreements were reached on jointly advancing the Belt and Road Initiative, enhancing trade, economic, investment, and energy cooperation, and establishing an international transportation corridor across the Caspian Sea. A joint statement was issued after the summit, along with agreements on Belt and Road cooperation," he added.
The deputy secretary highlighted that since its inception, the demonstration area has adhered to crucial guidelines, aiming to establish a new international cooperation platform under the Belt and Road initiative. He underscored its international public character and its role in enhancing demonstration and stimulation effects.
"Now evolving into a significant hub for cultural exchange, economic and trade interactions among SCO countries, and a pivotal venue for major events, the demonstration area stands out as China's sole platform for multilateral economic and trade cooperation with SCO countries. During the summit, it opens new opportunities to foster practical interactions between the center and the regions," he added.
