Kazakhstan sees growth in money supply

Kazakhstan recorded a 5.3-percent increase in the money supply in September. The figure increased by 3 percent since the beginning of the year up to 20.508 trillion tenge.

The National Bank of Kazakhstan reported that the volume of cash in circulation in September decreased by 0.2 percent to 1.816 trillion tenge. The figure increased by 3.9 percent in January-September.

The monetary aggregate M1, including cash and liquid tenge deposits, increased by 15.6 percent up to 5.476 trillion tenge.

The indicator M2, including cash, all tenge and liquid foreign currency deposits, increased by 8.5 percent up to 14.083 trillion tenge.

The monetary base, or the money of the National Bank of Kazakhstan, increased by 13.6% in September to 6.067 trillion tenge.

The volume of deposits of second-tier banks and other organizations on accounts at the National Bank of Kazakhstan increased by 24.5% up to 3.947 trillion tenge.

The official exchange rate for October 24 is 336.05 KZT / USD.
