ISESCO Council approves Almaty to be city of Islamic culture in 2015

During the last meeting ISESCO council has approved Almaty to be the city of Islamic culture in 2015, ISESCO (Islamic Organization for Education, science and Culture) director-general Abdul-Aziz Al-Touajiri told Kazakh ambassador Bahtiyar Tasimov in Cairo during the meeting, Kazakh foreign ministry press-secretary Ilyas Omarov told Trend .
"Abdul-Aziz Al-Touajiri highly appreciated the policy conducted by our President. Kazakhstan began to play significant role in the global international policy due to this policy," Ilyas Omarov said.
He said that the upcoming chairmanship in OIC in 2011 testifies about increasing authority of Kazakhstan.
"He also expressed hope that Kazakhstan's chairmanship in OSCE in 2010 will give an opportunity to strengthen traditional ties between EU countries with the Mediterranean countries in cultural-humanitarian sphere," Kazakh foreign ministry press-secretary said.
