Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs has sent a verbal note to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan in connection with the detention of Kazakh tourists,Kazinform reported. Kazakh Foreign Minister Yerzhan Kazykhanov told Prime Minister Karim Massimov on Friday.
According to representatives of the Bostandyk Police's investigation department, 12 Kazakh citizens were detained by Uzbek border guards in Uzbekistan in the border mountain area near Ugamsky nature reserve. Four detainees are now in a rehabilitation center in the city of Kibrai. The rest eight, who are youngsters, are in the juvenile detention center in Yangiyul.
