Special resolution to be adopted at first religious forum in Astana

The first forum of Kazakh religious scholars started at the Lev Gumilev Eurasian National University in Astana today, the Ministry of Information and Communication said.
"It is planned to adopt a special resolution within the forum," the statement said. The matter of establishing the Kazakh Association of Religious Scholars will be discussed."
Representatives of state bodies and religious organisations from Russia and Tajikistan, as well as prominent Kazakh religious scholars, MPs, representatives of religious and public organisations and media outlets are attending the forum.
"The group aims to integrate the national scientific community dealing with religious issues and to create a discussion platform aimed at thorough study of the interaction between religion and society," the report said.
The event is organised by the Agency for Religious Affairs together with the Kazakh Education Ministry and the Foreign Ministry.
