Kazakhstan's President Nulsultan Nazarbayev told on Thursday about the origins of the riots in the city of Zhanaozen.
"There was a prolonged conflict between workers and the management of "Ozenmunaygaz" company". Complicated situation was used by third parties not being in relation with this dispute in any way. They have organized riots," - said the head of state who visited Zhanaozen.
Riots broke out in Zhanaozen on December 16. On December 17 riots were stopped at the station Shetpe. According to official data, during the riots in Zhanaozen and Shetpe in Mangistau region 16 were killed, 108 injured, 41 involved the administrative responsibility.
According to Nazarbayev, his order of timely resolution of a labor dispute was not fulfilled. "Moreover, employers have made decisions of the illegal dismissal of employees, even those who were absent for legitimate reasons, were on sick leave or vacation. All this contributed to increased tensions," - said the President.
In general, in his opinion, the requirements of the company's employees have been substantiated. "If there were violations of labor discipline by the part of workers, employers would not have to forget that it is our people and they didn't fall from the moon. They had to be listened and supported as possible. Unfortunately this was not done," - said Nazarbayev.
According to him, it is necessary to deal with the problem of 1800 laid-off workers and promptly take necessary measures for their employment. "At the same time, they should not lose in salary, compared to the previous place of work. In addition, it is necessary to separate the company "Ozenmunaygaz" from "KMG", to make it a full-fledged entity. Do not ever forget that stability is the main condition of Kazakhstan's success. This is property of our republic, which should be taken care by all the people of Kazakhstan ", - said Kazakh President.
