The cause of the accident at the thermal power station in the town of Kentau in South Kazakhstan region was mostly human factor, Minister for Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan Vladimir Bojko said during an online conference.

Bojko noted that the plant was ready to frost by stock of coal, fuel oil and diesel fuel boiler and the cause of an accident is purely human factor.

So far, 35,000 people have been left without heating due to the breakdown at the TPP-5 in Kentau. The stoppage in the work of thermal power plant hampered the heat supply to the residents of 326 multistoried buildings and more than one thousand private houses.
Transformer broke down due to fall in temperature to minus 30 degrees. During its connection, the TPP boilers stopped and fuel oil froze, which complicated the recovery of the system.
