Kazakhstan implements project to develop female entrepreneurship

The Businesswomen Association of Kazakhstan and Chevron have launched a project to develop female entrepreneurship in Almaty, Astana, Atyrau, Kyzylorda, Petropavl, and Oskemen, Association President Raushan Sarsembayeva said at a news conference.

The Businesswomen Association of Kazakhstan and Chevron have launched a project to develop female entrepreneurship in Almaty, Astana, Atyrau, Kyzylorda, Petropavl, and Oskemen, Association President Raushan Sarsembayeva said at a news conference.

Training centers will be set up where women can get skills and knowledge to start their own small businesses. The first center is planned to be opened in the capital.

The training will be organized in accounting, jurisprudence, office work and other spheres. It will run 40 hours.

In addition, Chevron is funding a micro-lending program for participants planning to launch their own business.

"Not all participants will get loans. There will be different selection criteria. Psychologists and educators will talk with them, and it will become clear how much they imbued with ideas of their own business," Sarsembayeva said.
