Kazakhstan, Astana, Nov. 20 / Trend D. Mukhtarov /
The statements of Vladislav Chelakh, accused of killing 15 people on the Arkankergen border post, on the attack from the Chinese side are equivalent to a statement on attack of aliens, presidential adviser Ermuhambet Yertysbayev told Trend over phone.
"It would have sounded more truthful if Chelakh said that the border post was attacked by aliens or Dzhungars, that hided in the mountains since the 17th century (Dzhungars are the tribes living in the ancient times and making raids on the Kazakh steppe)," Yertysbayev said.
According to reports of Kazakh mass media, Yerzhan Moldagalievm who was a witness at the hearing on past Monday, said that immediately after the arrest Vladislav Chelakh, a border guard accused of killing 14 fellow soldiers and a huntsman at the Arkankergen border post in the south of Kazakhstan, said that, in his opinion, Arkankergen was attacked from the Chinese side.
Moldagaliev is a soldier of Usharal border detachment , who discovered Chelakh in shepherd's winter hut a few days after the tragedy.
"He said that we were attacked by the Chinese. When I asked why he thinks so, he couldn't explain it" the witness said, citing the conversation.
The witness also stated that Chelakh told him that he returned to the border post, some time after the attack, and found his colleagues dead, doused the place with gasoline and burned it.
"He said he was afraid that he will be accused ," Moldagaliev said.
The massacre at Arkankergen temporary border post, where 15 border guards serve in summer, took place in late May. The post stopped contact and border duty was sent there from the Sari Bokter border post. Arriving border guards found that the building of barrack was burned with bodies of 14 victims inside. In addition, hunter's body was found in the nearby winter hut.
A few days later, the only border guard who survived, the 19-year-old soldier Chelakh was detained. After his arrest, he confessed the murder of fellow soldiers and hunters, but later refused confession, saying that he was psychologically pressurized. According to Chelakh, the post was attacked.
