Kazakhstan and EU discuss cooperation

Chairman of Kazakh Majilis (Parliament's Lower Chamber) Nurlan Nigmatulin and European Union's Ambassador to Kazakhstan Aurelia Bouchez discussed bilateral cooperation on Tuesday, the Majilis press-service reported.

Within the meeting the parties noted that the partnership expansion is the strategic priority of the foreign policy of both Kazakhstan and the European Union.

Moreover, the sides expressed confidence that Kazakhstan and the European Union have great potential to cooperate successfully.

According to Nigmatulin and Bouchez, Kazakhstan and the European Union hold similar positions on security and stability in the Eurasian continent.

The European Union is Kazakhstan's main trade and investment partner over six years. The EU countries invested $70 billion in Kazakhstan's economy in 1993-2012.
