The Ministry of Defence of Kazakhstan developed a draft concept of military personnel preparation at military departments of universities, the Defense Ministry said in a report issued on Wednesday.
"In order to bring the preparation of military-trained reserves in accordance with the needs of the Armed Forces, a draft Concept of military personnel preparation at military departments of higher education institutions of Kazakhstan was developed by the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan," - the report says.
According to the report, it is planned to organize training of students according to training courses of reserve officers at different degrees: from an ordinary soldier to a company commander taking into account the profile of the educational institution, dislocation of nearest military units, and the sites for practical training.
"In addition, training at military departments of higher schools will be aimed not only at preparation of reserve officers, but also at restoring needs the Armed Forces in the logistics experts and other types of support," the report says.
These innovations, according to the Defense Ministry, will also allow the military educational institutions of the ministry to focus on the training of commanding officers.
As noted by the First Deputy Minister of Defence, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces Saken Zhasuzakov during an extended meeting on the preparation of students according to the program for reserve officers at military departments of higher schools higher educational institutions, preparation of students at military departments of higher schools has not significantly changed recent years, and their training programs do not meet modern requirements.
"All of this requires a radical revision of the preparation system of military-trained reserve, which should take place in the context of the development of the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan," the chief of the General Staff said.
