Kazakh National Welfare Fund to finance establishment of chemical cluster

Jointly with Baiterek national company, the National Welfare Fund Samruk-Kazyna will finance the creation of a chemical cluster in Zhambyl province (South Kazakhstan), chairman of the Fund's Board Umirzak Shukeyev said on Feb.26.

"The possibility of financing a chemical cluster in Zhambyl province jointly with Baiterek JSC is being considered," Umirzak Shukeyev said at the expanded board of the Fund with participation of the Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov.

The cluster will include the projects such as creation of Chemical Park Taraz FEZ worth about 34 billion tenge ($ 1 - 184.7 tenge), sodium cyanide production worth about 19 billion tenge, caustic soda, chlorine, phosphorus trichloride, glyphosate production - about 40 billion tenge, according to Shukeyev.
