Uzbek and Kazakh presidents discuss development of relations

The presidents of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan Nursultan Nazarbayev and Islam Karimov discussed the key issues of developing the relations between the two countries, the situation in Central Asia and around it, as well as the relevant international issues of mutual interest, the Uzbekistan National News Agency (UzA) said.
President Karimov paid an official visit to Astana at the invitation of President Nazarbayev Nov. 24.
A dialogue at the highest level is seen in both countries as an important factor of the multifaceted cooperation, determining the priority areas of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan in the future.
The main events of the visit are scheduled for November 25. The presidents will hold talks in a narrow format and with the participation of the delegations of the two countries.
The development of the relations between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan is particularly important not only in terms of their long-term prospects, but also for the stability and prosperity of Central Asia as a whole.
Several bilateral intergovernmental agreements envisaging the development of a wide range of relations between the countries are planned to be signed as part of the visit.
