The Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan has organized a business forum jointly with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Georgia and with the assistance of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Republic of Georgia within the framework of the trade and economic mission of the Kazakh delegation to Tbilisi (Georgia), Kazinform reported referring to the forum organizers.
The main purpose of the event is the establishment of direct contacts, the intensification of trade relations between Kazakh enterprises and potential Georgian buyers.
Kazakh delegation includes large companies functioning in the mining, construction and engineering fields.
As part of the trade and economic mission, it is planned to sign a Memorandum of cooperation between the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Georgia.
Currently, Kazakhstan exports to Georgia oil products, nitrogen fertilizers, pasta, flat rolled iron, cigarettes, frozen fish, medicines. The main goods imported from Georgia to Kazakhstan are wine, soft drinks and water, alcohol tinctures, metal pipes, vaccines, condensed milk and cream.
From January to July 2018, the foreign trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Georgia has increased by 67 percent compared to the same period in 2016 and amounted to $77 million.
