Kazakhstan records rise in output of products in processing sector

Kazakhstan’s processing industry showed positive tendencies with a total indicator of 106.1 percent in the first two months of this year, Head of the country’s Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development Beibut Atamkulov said, Trend reports referring to the ministry.

According to Atamkulov, in the machine-building industry, stable growth was noted at the level of 121.2 percent due to the production of vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers (+19.6 percent), machinery and equipment (+54.6 percent), production of other vehicles, computers, electronic and optical equipment (+38.5 percent), electrical equipment (+7.4 percent), repair and installation (+4.9 percent).

The positive dynamics was observed in non-ferrous metallurgy, which grew by 5.4 percent.Volumes of refined gold (rose by 42 percent), refined silver (by 60 percent), gold bullion (by 45 percent), silver granules (by 10 percent), cathode copper (by 45 percent), and others.

In ferrous metallurgy, there increased output of cast iron (by 5 percent) and ferrosilicon manganese (by 73 percent).

In the pharmaceutical industry, production volume increased by 9.2 percent. Due to growth in demand, the production volume at Khimfarm JSC has increased by 3 times, and at Nobel AFF JSC - by 27 percent.

In light industry, growth made up 3.5 percent due to an increase in the output of clothing (by 19.9 percent) and leather products (by 16.6 percent).

The growth in the volume of chemical production amounted to 14.1 percent.

The total production of building materials was recorded at the level of 122.9 percent against the plan due to an increase in the production of Portland cement (by 61.2 percent) and gypsum (by 45.2 percent).
