Trend:

Some 57 big projects in the agro-industrial field have been introduced in Kazakhstan and about 15,000 jobs have been created in the countryside, Kazakh Minister of Agriculture Saparkhan Omarov said during his meeting with the population.

"The volume of financing for the agro-industrial complex through the Agrarian Credit Corporation, the Fund for Financial Support of Agriculture and KazAgroFinance amounted to 446 billion tenge (1.04 million) as of 2020," Omarov added.

The number of borrowers increased from 77,000 in 2019 to 80,000 in 2020.

"The share of small and medium-sized businesses in lending has grown from 92 percent to 95.3 percent,” the minister said. “Some 57 big projects have been introduced and about 15,000 jobs have been created in the countryside."

Earlier it was reported that the volume of state support for agriculture last year was increased to 366 billion tenge ($856 million).

"Last year was difficult for the entire economy of the country and for the agro-industrial complex,” Omarov said. “The agricultural policy chosen by the state in recent years, as well as anti-crisis measures taken last year, made it possible to ensure the stable development of the domestic agro-industrial complex in difficult conditions associated with the COVID-19 pandemic."

The minister said that the volume of state support for the sector last year, taking into account anti-crisis measures, was increased to 366 billion tenge ($856 million), which is by 13 percent more than in 2019.
