Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan talks harvesting campaign progress

Some 15.4 million hectares of grain and leguminous crops (or 96.8 percent) were harvested in Kazakhstan as of September 24, 2021, Trend reports via Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The average yield is 9.6 centner per ha, 14.8 million tons were harvested, including 11.6 million tons of wheat, said the ministry.

Some 616,700 tons of oilseeds, 2.9 million tons of potatoes, 4.1 million tons of vegetable crops, 2.6 million tons of melons were harvested as well.

About 11.5 million hectares were harvested in the main grain-growing Kazakh regions of Akmola, Kostanay and North Kazakhstan, which is 98.9 percent of their total harvesting area. With an average yield of 8.8 centner per ha, 10 million tons were harvested.

According to the updated data, the total grain storage capacity in the country is 29.3 million tons, including 12.4 million tons at grain receiving businesses, 16.9 million tons at agricultural producers.

The harvesting campaign of 2021 is at its final stage. The pace of the harvesting campaign is higher than in 2020. The issues of harvesting are under Ministry’s control.
