BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 20. Non-food inflation amounted to 10.9 percent in Kazakhstan in March, Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Kazakhstan Vitaliy Tutushkin said, Trend reports via Kazakh media.

"Prices for non-food products were under pressure due to the weakening of the exchange rate and partly increased demand. Non-food inflation amounted to 10.9 percent in March," Tutushkin said at the plenary meeting of the Kazakh Parliament (Majilis).

According to him, prices for paid services accelerated from 7.1 percent to 8.3 percent, which is associated with an increase in prices for a number of market services, such as rental and renovation of housing, hotel, and restaurant services.

"Tariffs for regulated utility services remain unchanged due to a six-month suspension," Tutushkin added.
