BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 6. Kazakhstan's GDP grew by 4.4 percent as a result of the period from January through April 2022, Trend reports citing the Kazakh National Bank.

The growth of the country’s economy continued ignoring the geopolitical situation in the world and the accident on Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) pipeline. High rates of growth demonstrate all key sectors of the economy against the background of the growth of world prices for raw materials and the removal of quarantine restrictions.

Indicators of consumer demand reflect positive dynamics. The growth of retail trade after the January events (series of mass protests) resumed in Kazakhstan in April 2022. In particular, the turnover of food products, which was in the negative zone in the first quarter 2022, was restored.

The stored growth of consumer lending has led to a rapid recovery in the turnover of non-food products in February with a further acceleration in April of 2022.

The growth of investments in housing construction, which is due to the high demand of the population on the background of an increase in the amount of early retirement benefits, has increased in the first quarter of 2022, after a small slowdown at the end of 2021.

Prices in the real estate market continue to maintain, against this background, an upward trend during the year.
