BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 9. "Amendments to the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan 'On subsoil and subsoil use' propose to define unconventional hydrocarbons, including shale oil, shale gas, and gas hydrates, as well as the competence of the authorized body for the study of subsoil in classifying the calculated reserves. The changes will provide a legislative basis for the exploration and development of unconventional hydrocarbons, including shale oil and shale gas," the minister stated.

Some amendments are related to the construction of buildings, border divisions, and automobile checkpoints across the state border.
