BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 27. A total of 15.4 million hectares of grain and leguminous crops have been harvested in Kazakhstan, or 96.3 percent of the total harvested area, to date, the Minister of Agriculture Yerbol Karashukeyev said at the government meeting, Trend reports via the Kazakh media.

"The total harvested area of ​​agricultural crops this year amounted to 23.4 million hectares. Of these, the grain harvesting area is 16.1 million hectares. Favorable conditions this year allowed carry out most of the harvesting campaign without downtime," Karashukeyev said.

The minister noted that with an average yield of 13 centners per hectare, 20.1 million tons of grain have been threshed.

"In 2021, with an average yield of 9.8 q/ha, 14.9 million tons were harvested, down by 25.9 percent. Grain harvesting has been fully completed in Aktobe, Karaganda regions and the city of Shymkent," he added.
