BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 11. A total of 15.9 million hectares of grain and legumes or 99.5 percent of the aggregate harvest area have been harvested in Kazakhstan to date, Vice Minister of Agriculture Baglan Bekbauov said at the briefing of the Central Communications Service, Trend reports via Kazakh media.

“With an average yield of 13.5 centners per hectare, 21.5 million tons of grain have been threshed. In 2021, with an average yield of 10.1 c/ha, 15.8 million tons or 26.5 percent less were harvested. Grain harvesting has been fully completed in all regions of the country,” Bekbauov noted.

“In terms of crops, including those for socially important goods, 12.8 million hectares of wheat, or 100 percent with a yield of 12.6 centners per hectare, have been harvested, and 16.2 million tons have been threshed,” the vice minister said.

Oilseeds were harvested on an area of ​​1.9 million hectares, or 55.7 percent of the harvested area, and the gross harvest of oilseeds is 1.5 million tons with an average yield of 7.8 c/ha.

Potatoes were harvested from an area of ​​185,100 hectares, or 93.8 percent of the planned area, and the gross harvest amounted to 3.8 million tons with a yield of 204.8 c/ha.

Vegetable crops were harvested from an area of ​​161,200 hectares, or 93.4 percent of the planned area, and the gross harvest amounted to 4.6 million tons with a yield of 288.6 c/ha.
