Kazakhstan names winner of auction for installation of wind power plants in Astana

BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 24. Kazakhstan has held an auction on the installation of wind power plants with a total capacity of 50 MW for the northern zone of the Unified Electric Power System of Astana city, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan.

With the maximum threshold set at the 21,53 Kazakh tenge ($0.047) per MWh excluding VAT, only 8 companies have been allowed to participate.

Thus, Russia’s Evrus LLP has won the auction and now will be engaged in the implementation of a project with a total capacity of 50 MW.

As a result, the decrease in the auction price made up 38 percent, which is considered to be a very solid indicator.

Meanwhile, from November 24 through November 29, another auction round will be held for the 200 MW capacity wind power plants.
