BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 28. The supply of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) to Kazakhstan’s domestic market by the end of 2022 is expected to reach 1.6 million tons, or over 60 percent of production, Trend reports, citing the Argus Media's "The current situation in LPG market in Central Asia" overview.

According to the report, the deliveries to the domestic market of the country increased by 0.24 million tons, or 19.5 percent, in 2021, while the increase in LPG consumption in Kazakhstan has been recorded constantly for the last ten years.

However, LPG production in Kazakhstan decreased in January by 12.2 percent, to 2.07 million tons.

Tengizchevroil (TCO), a joint venture between Chevron, ExxonMobil, KazMunayGas, and LukArco, has also decreased its LPG production by 21 percent over the last 9 months - 0.84 million tons.

Meanwhile, several factors have put some drawbacks to Kazakhstan’s LPG production. The overall output decreased in the first quarter due to unstable exports to Ukraine. The shipments of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) blend from Novorossiysk was also suspended due to damage to outrigger berthing devices.

At the same time, Kazakhstan also saw a year-on-year decrease of 22 percent, or 0.4 million tons, in LPG exports over the first 9 months of the current year.
