BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 12. Representatives of McDonald’s fast food chain expressed desire to reopen their restaurants in Kazakhstan and substitute imports with domestic production, Trend reports, citing the Ministry of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan.

During the meeting between the General Director of "Food Solutions KZ" LLC, McDonald’s representatives in the country, Asset Mashanov and Kuanysh Yelikbayev, Chairman of the Committee for Technical Regulation and Metrology of the Ministry, discussed the challenges of the company.

Mashanov stated that negotiations with domestic meat and poultry producers have already started, and cooperation with domestic producers will enable them to offer their goods and services to successfully enter new markets.

The government officials have agreed to assist the company, including by hastening the necessary customs procedures for goods that will be imported from foreign countries.
