BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 18. Transit container transportation volume through the territory of Kazakhstan increased by 6 percent in 2022, Marat Karabayev, Minister of Industry and Infrastructural Development of Kazakhstan, said, Trend reports, citing Kazakh media.
The index of physical volume reached 103.9 percent by the end of 2022.
According to the minister, Kazakhstan the growth in the volume of transit cargo amounted to 12.6 percent with a total volume of transported cargo reaching 26.8 million tons.
Karabayev added that a positive dynamic is also observed in the field of passenger transportation. Kazakhstan recorded a growth of 2.3 percent in this field in 2022.
Last year, Kazakhstan adopted a strategy for developing the country’s transport and logistics potential. The concept regulates the future growth of the industry. Currently, Kazakhstan has already started implementing railroad projects, including the construction of the second track of the Dostyk-Moyinti route.
