BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 2. Mastercard will contribute to development of a cashless economy and stimulate the development of fintech ecosystems in Kazakhstan, Trend reports, citing Kazpost.

Mastercard will carry out its mission in the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding signed with Kazakhstan’s national postal service JSC “Kazpost”.

The document outlines the principles of joint work on development and launch of payment solutions for social projects, the development of e-commerce, the digitalization of small and medium-sized enterprises, and the provision of a fast, uninterrupted, and secure digital experience in Kazakhstan.

Rafal Trepka, Mastercard’s General Manager in Central Asia, said that cooperation between the two organizations will provide benefits for the population of Kazakhstan.

“Our joint work with Kazpost will provide access to innovative financial services to even more Kazakhs, and our expertise and international experience will give an impetus to the development of social aspects, digitalization of SMEs, and e-commerce,” Trepka added.

Kazpost is the national postal service of Kazakhstan, which provides a wide range of postal, financial, agent, and digital services. Kazpost is responsible for ensuring economic, social, and environmental stability by providing public services throughout Kazakhstan. Currently, the postal operator actively modernizes solutions that are offered to clients.
